Are you fully licensed and insured to perform blasting work?2025-11-30T23:35:12+00:00

Yes. Able Blasting are fully qualified and insured specialists in the explosives blasting industry.

What types of projects do you handle — from small jobs to large scale?2025-11-30T23:14:45+00:00

We handle a wide range of jobs — from small, tight-access jobs (e.g. backyard swimming-pool excavations, garden rock removals) to large-scale rock blasting for civil works like new estate road constructions. Specializing in site excavations, complex hard rock excavations, reinforced concrete, cliff-face stabilisation, chimney stacks, transmission-tower demolition, bridge and multi-storey building demolition.

Can you work near existing homes or sensitive structures — for example for a backyard pool excavation?2025-11-30T23:15:24+00:00

Yes. We specialise in projects near existing houses or infrastructure. When proximity or vibration risk is a concern, we can recommend non-explosive rock splitting instead of traditional blasting.

What if explosives aren’t suitable — do you offer non-explosive alternatives?2025-11-30T23:16:40+00:00

Yes. We offer non-explosive rock splitting (hydraulic or other mechanical methods) that can break apart rock, concrete, or hard materials, which is ideal for confined spaces, under structures, near utilities or where vibration must be minimised.

Do you supply excavation or removal equipment if required (e.g. after blasting)?2025-11-30T23:17:03+00:00

Yes. For small to medium jobs where you need to clear blasted rock, we can supply a 5-tonne excavator as part of our hire package.

What safety measures and precautions do you take on jobs — especially near buildings or sensitive areas?2025-11-30T23:18:07+00:00

Able Blasting applies controlled blasting procedures, draws up site-specific plans, and uses appropriate techniques (explosive or non-explosive) based on the project’s context to minimise vibration, manage rock fragmentation, and protect nearby persons and structures.

What kinds of materials, terrain or structures can you handle?2025-11-30T23:18:55+00:00

We can handle hard rock encounted on site cut excavations and trenching, sandstone or natural rock terrain, reinforced concrete, chimney stacks, transmission towers or masts, cliff faces, foundations, and even complex structures such as multi-storey buildings.

How do you decide whether to use explosive blasting or non-explosive splitting?2025-11-30T23:19:24+00:00

The decision depends on the site context — for example, proximity to existing buildings or utilities, vibration risk, and access constraints. If explosives pose undue risk, we recommend non-explosive rock splitting. Otherwise, for efficiency and effectiveness, blasting may be used.

Do you have experience with swimming-pool excavations or similar residential jobs?2025-11-30T23:19:55+00:00

Yes — we’ve completed swimming-pool excavations using rock blasting, among many other residential and commercial services.

Can you demolish existing structures — not just rock excavation?2025-11-30T23:20:22+00:00

Yes. Able Blasting can demolish structures such as chimney stacks, transmission towers or masts, buildings and multi-storey structures when required.

Is Able Blasting available across Victoria (or wider areas)?2025-11-30T23:20:55+00:00

Yes. We offer services Victoria and Australia-wide.
